Berkeley Relationship Help Psychotherapist

Kirsten Howell - Berkeley Relationship Help PsychotherapistDo you find yourself worrying about whether or not your marriage/relationship will last?

One of the first signs of a relationship that is need fine tuning is when there is a pattern of several, painful misunderstandings that you don’t know how they happened but the effects linger way too long. Then it becomes too difficult to reconnect or no one knows how to reach out.

This might leave you feeling misunderstood, not seen, and hurt again and again. Some people question their decision to stay or leave a relationship.

Significant relationships thrive on intimacy. In a romantic relationship trust, communication, and physical enjoyment make up an important part of the relationship. Without these, the romantic feelings tend to diminish over time.

Work, family, duties, and self goals can wedge a silent distance between two people. After a while, the couple’s ability to communicate may disintegrate. Each person might start to wrongly attribute the actions or needs of their partner. Every relationship is unique and complex due to couples different expectations and wants when it comes to a relationship. We all bring different strengths and struggles into our relationship.

The first step to feeling more secure in your relationship is to communicate. In order to feel more secure, each person in the couple must learn what their needs are and then to listen with their partner in an emotionally open, safe place.

Therapy can provide a balance setting to discuss the difficulties and the strengths of your relationship. I provide couples therapy to increase communication, passion, and overall sense of happiness.
